Shoots and Stuff, Coming Up
Move in, or miss out :)
Hello all
It’s been busy-busy! As well as doing some work for the wonderful social enterprise Unseen Tours, Josh and I have been furiously working away on shoots past and future.
Really it would make sense to promote what’s coming up first, but maybe I’ll just tease you with a flavour of what’s already been done.
Maro is a new model but you wouldn’t know it. We expanded our skill base and worked on a rim lighting set-up, which is surprisingly tricky for how simple the shots look. As well as “classic” rim lighting, we experimented with a strip gobo look. Love it! If you’re interested in doing something like this in the future, let me know.
We also shot with Danny the Champion of the World. (She is. Her American football teams have won everything this season.)
We shot such a wide variety of images; these are just two. The left-hand shot was really interesting - it was caused by a trigger not communicating properly with the strobe and creating that curtain effect. I liked it though, and played with the image to make a light and shadow vibe. The second was with a simple snoot on the strobe. I love how it looks as though Danny is wearing some kind of peplum skirt instead of just a leotard.
And last but not least we have Carmen. Carmen’s a fantastic model and incredible dancer: we were lucky to have her in the studio to make some great shapes.

We are moving in a different direction for the morning session (afternoon is almost full - this session is a poppy look like the one above).

We have the new model Misaki joining us. She is, as you can probably tell from the name, is Japanese and has a very cool look. Move fast if you’re interested as one place is already taken.

Avoiding Japanese clichés, we are planning a modern, artistic look, drawing on inspiration from contemporary Japanese photographers such as Mika Ninagawa.
